Our [merchant services dialer](http://iriscrm.com/features) now allows for the enabling and disabling of call recording based on area code and by outgoing or incoming calls. According to [DMLP](http://t.sidekickopen55.com/e1t/c/5/f18dQhb0S7lC8dDMPbW2n0x6l2B9nMJW7t5XZs7d-ct-W8q5L1x4WJbtvN6H8tgQ1rb9Wf6Sdkh203?t=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dmlp.org%2Flegal-guide%2Frecording-phone-calls-and-conversations&si=5341074961465344&pi=6d243e57-d8ec-4116-b1a0-e3775ab1bd47), at this time, eleven states require the consent of every party to a phone call or conversation. California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and Washington are currently two-party consent states. **The default recording setting for these 11 states is "off".** All other area codes are set to "on". Recording rules can be configured differently for "Outgoing" and Incoming" for the same area code.
